Elastin3 Review

Elastin 3 is a topical preparation manufactured by Roselyn Labs for reducing stretch marks. The company is known for the manufacture of a range of cosmetic products including some for men.

The manufacturer of the product claims that their formula will not only reduce the appearance of stretch marks but will prevent the future formation of these blemishes by renewing and strengthening the tissue bond between the dermis and the epidermis.

Roselyn labs have also made the statement that Elastin 3 is the only product of its kind to contain an amino peptide complex. They go on to add that the product helps in the repair and reduction of existing stretch marks, eliminating the blemishes completely over time. Also, the product is supposed to tighten all skin types.

The ingredients

Vgetable oil, cetyl alcohol, glycerine, stearic acid, glyceryl monostearate, soy protein, soluble collage, hydrolyzed elastin,acetyl hexapeptide 3, methylparaben, microcrystalline cellulose, propylparaben, triethanolamine, imidazolidinyl urea, simethicone,octyl methoxycinnamate, essential oil of white flowers.

The manufacturer goes on to mention the results of the primary ingredients of the product, collagen, elastin, soy protein and a patented amino acid compound known as Argireline.

The drawbacks

While the manufacturer of Elastin3 makes some blaring claims, there is no clinical evidence to prove their veracity. To put it simply, all other compounds including elastin, collagen and soy; except for Argireline, are commonly found in most OTC stretch mark preparations. Yet, we see these creams and lotions fail dismally when it actually comes to making a difference in the appearance of existing and future stretch marks.

Also, the manufacturer's claims that their product can completely eliminate existing stretch marks can be labeled dubious at best because at present there is no such compound known to science that will yield such results. The only way to completely remove stretch marks is through surgical intervention

Another claim that strikes as a marketing ploy is about the appearance of future marks which can apparently be stopped through the use of this product. In reality, the formation of stretch marks is a physiological process in reaction to shape and size changes. While a product can help to improve skin elasticity, it cannot completely eliminate the possibility of stretch marks.

• The before and after photographs on the site seem to be deliberately blurred to prevent people from seeing the actual results.

The verdict

While Elastin 3 may help to tighten the skin tone, it will do little to remove or prevent stretch marks. It will improve the texture of your skin but if you are expecting miraculous results, you will be sorely disappointed. The cream may not be the worst product in its category but it's certainly not the best either.
